I'd like to know that as well, I've heard some similar things while
googling around to solve my issue.  I've tried pp=al:f.  Haven't tried
eq2 much, haven't gotten great results so far, but maybe I'm using the
filter improperly.  Do you have any suggestions as far as filters, or
some way to convert the black level to the proper ntsc format?
