I was just keeping the original format.

Sounds like a good idea.  You want to give me the other half a chance
and offer up some examples? ;)

I'm away from that machine now but both my attempts of resampling the
audio and resizing failed.  Hum, looking at the man page now I see I
tried using -vf scale, which probably isn't correct.  Yes, I'm not
very familiar with the details of encoding.
