[MEncoder-users] qp_constant does not work?

Hello,

I am trying to encode video into x264 with constant QP. 

However, when using the qp_constant option as below I see in the log fil 
that the QP varies from one frame to another. Do you happen to know why?
Is this a bug?

mencoder dvd://7 -o test.264 -ovc x264 -x264encopts qp_constant=26:log=3

Furthremore the encoder option -idrint is not recognised?
