[MEncoder-users] Problem with bitrate

Hi ..

I am a problem with bitrate.
My command is:

mencoder "mf://../*jpg" -mf fps=1:type=jpeg -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=30 -o 20060210.avi

Mencoder type:

VIDEO: [IJPG] 0x0 24bpp 1.000 fps 0.0 kbps ( 0.0 kbyte/s)
[V] filefmt:16 fourcc:0x47504A49 size:0x0 fps: 1.00 ftime:=1.0000
------------- cut -------------------------------------------------------------------

87271 files!!

But mencoder makes video:

Pos: 676.0s 676f ( 0%) 37fps Trem: 0min 0mb A-V:0.000 [462:0]

Video have (from mplayer):
------------- cut -------------------------------------------------------------------
VIDEO: [FMP4] 640x480 24bpp 1.000 fps 462.9 kbps (56.5 kbyte/s)
------------- cut -------------------------------------------------------------------

so bitrate is 462.9 kbps and video have very low quality.



Now I run same command (but with less files):

mencoder "mf:///tmp/aaa/*jpg" -mf fps=1:type=jpeg -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=30 -o 20060210.avi

Mencoder type:
------------- cut -------------------------------------------------------------------
[mf] search expr: /tmp/aaa/extel-20060210*jpg
[mf] number of files: 3636 (14544)
VIDEO: [IJPG] 0x0 24bpp 1.000 fps 0.0 kbps ( 0.0 kbyte/s)
[V] filefmt:16 fourcc:0x47504A49 size:0x0 fps: 1.00 ftime:=1.0000
------------- cut -------------------------------------------------------------------

Less files, only 3636.

Mencoder makes video:
------------- cut -------------------------------------------------------------------
Pos:3111.0s 3111f ( 0%) 59fps Trem: 0min 0mb A-V:0.000 [30:0]]
------------- cut -------------------------------------------------------------------

Video have (from mplayer):
------------- cut -------------------------------------------------------------------
VIDEO: [FMP4] 640x480 24bpp 1.000 fps 30.4 kbps ( 3.7 kbyte/s)
------------- cut -------------------------------------------------------------------

Bitrate is OK (so 30kbps), video have good quality.


You know where is problem?
Is limit to max count of files?
