For mp3 audio, always use -oac mp3lame, never lavc.  Perhaps that will
help with your sound problem...

You haven't mentioned what version you are using, so I'll just give the
pre-emptive warning: "Use CVS" if you aren't already.

I will look at this a bit more, later, and see if I have any problems.
