[MEncoder-users] SSA and mencoder

Is/are there any plans to support SSA in mencoder w/ respect to
protocol and burning into video?

Before I get flamed from ppl who are mkv and subtitle strong... I love
mkv and various subtitles... and while I also like being able to load
subtitles, etc... it's not always an option.
Sometimes you do need to burn the subs into the video...and especially
with SSA.. it's not just simple bottom of the screen subs... it's also
karaoke, effects... and even more important things like being able put
random text at various places. Ever seen an anime where you had an odd
angle test to sub a newspaper or sign?..

Anyway... I love mencoder, but while it doesnt support SSA and since
there isn't a SSA tool for Linux/(whatever unix) subbers are stuck w/
Windows which I find sad... since there isn't an equivalent tool.
