Hi everyone

I have a problem that may be a bit uncommon
so I don't know where to start searching.
Maybe someone on this list has a few ideas
about it. Ok, of to the problem report:

I am creating a sequence of pictures with
some plotting application. (python/matplotlib)
Now, what I would like to do is add them to
some video stream and delete the pictures
afterwards.
The idea is to add the pictures to the stream
as the other application is creating them, so
I only have about 20 or so pictures on my
harddisk at one time. Creating all pictures and
making a video afterwards would use too much space.

So the ideal situation would be the following:
Let's say I get a new picture every five minutes or so,
(time may vary per picture) then the encoder would add
this picture to the video stream it is creating and I
could delete the picture. The encoder would wait now
for the next picture and process it until I sent a stop
signal.

Any ideas how this could be achieved?

Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Nikolai
