[FFmpeg-user] Encoding from possible corrupt mpeg to mp4

I want to encode videos automatically, but I have a video which takes
forever to encode. It gives the following message:

DTS discontinuity in stream 0: packet 6 with DTS 34185, packet 7 with DTS
8589926735

The DTS of packet 7 is very high. The video is just about 3 minutes. What
can be the problem? Whys does it take such a long time.
