I found it in a Google search. This was some time ago and I can not
find it again. Was probably not very trustworthy. Again: I should have
asked sooner here.

I am not an encoder/decoder expert. I am just someone who uses ffmpeg
to get reasonable results. Because it went wrong when I started using
yuv420p beside yuv422p I excepted the ‘tip’. But your tip was the real
tip. To bad that it is not integrated into the manpage: it will trip
up other people also I am afraid.
