[FFmpeg-user] unable to play mpeg transcoded stream on mplayer or Vlc

Hi,
Can somebody tell me the options to be pass for an interlaced video
transcode into .mpg as a container .command line Used by me is as follows:
ffmpeg -i James\ Bond\ -\ Quantum\ of\ solace\ 1080p\ HD\ trailer\ 1.mp4
-vcodec libx264 -x264opts tff=1 -flags ildct -bufsize 500000000 -maxrate
50000000 -profile:v main -level:v 4.1 -s 1920x1080 -b:v 10.1M -r 30
-acodec copy temp.mpg
is i give .h264 extension then it is possible but i am unable to transcode
to any other container. Please guide..............
