My question was if other audio files can be decoded - I don't know 
much about library usage but since FFmpeg does support your input 
file I am quite sure there is a problem in your source code (note 
that there is the libav-user mailing list especially for such 
problems).
Did you use the same compilation options for the ffmpeg test and 
the library test?
