Why pointing out the 3x version instead of 2x or 4x?

Note: the code source GPL. It would be interesting to have some algorithm
details instead to implement it in LGPL.

If you don't plan to work on it, I would suggest to open a ticket on trac
instead.

Priorities is mostly a matter of taste. It's a fun filter, it would be
welcome. We have a relatively similar filter already BTW (super2xsai).
