First, I find it funny how the project where anyone has at least the technical possibility to commit whatever they want is the dictatorship (particularly since you several times committed things against the rules and other developer's objections and it did not have any consequences), which is why to me it sounds like you are saying "I'm not interested unless I can be dictator".
Secondly why should anyone heed your request to revoke commit access? After all you refused to remove me from MAINTAINERS for a project I do not want to take responsibility for.
Not to mention that the complaints and concerns are only taken care of now, after things being forced, why would anyone want to work under a leadership where you will be ignored unless you always have a credible threat of a successful fork at hand?!?
