Day X is 4. Mai 2010, i.e., today. Or to use other words, I've just
created the 0.6 branch. It took considerably longer than expected do to
a couple of reasons. One is that Diego and I consider this release a bit
special, namely as a solid basis for HTML 5 support. Therefore we decided
to wait on some Theora bugfixes and improvements. Other reasons include
a regression in libswscale (FATE detected a failed test on big endian
machines), and of course limited time.

Ok, we now start the "freeze" week. This means that everyone has the
option to nominate any patch committed to trunk for backporting to
0.6. Diego and I will consider and (if it makes sense) include it. This
also means that now is a perfect time to review documentation and draft
release notes! We also had several offers to translate them, so the
faster we get the release notes ready, the faster translators can begin
with their work.

Next week when we're ready with the release notes, we can roll tarballs
and formally announce FFmpeg "Works with HTML 5" 0.6 !
