I don't think any of these were backed by any developer,
unfortunately. I kind of like FFMF so I'll give a symbolic backing to
it (that doesn't mean I'll vote for it), which brings our total to 7
names. I haven't heard (from SFLC) about any legal issues with the
name "FFmpeg", so I'll assume that's legally OK. I think I'll start a
new thread for the voting, which will go as follows:

"Any FFmpeg contributor / developer (*) may vote for an order of
preference. Your number 1 will receive 6 points, your number 2 will
receive 5 points, and so on. If you wish to forfeit points, simply
don't rank a next one. For example, the following would be OK (use of
proposed names is randomly chosen in this example):

1 OMF
2 FFM.org

Which would result in:
1 OMF - receiving 6 points
2 FFm.org - receiving 5 points

Voting will last 5 days from the moment that this email was sent.
Ronald will add up the points and announce a winner. Since voting is
public (on the ffmpeg-devel mailinglist), anyone can check and
validate the results.

(*) a FFmpeg contributor / developer is anyone:
[- with SVN access; OR
 - with multiple (i.e. at least 2) recent (i.e. until yesterday, Dec.
9th, 2009), non-trivial patches approved for committing to trunk/SVN ]
AND
- who feels associated with the project in such a way that he would
like to call himself an FFmpeg contributor / developer and would
consider himself as a potential member of the foundation, if we ever
get to the point where we accept members."

I'll send this out tonight. Please submit clarifications if I did
something silly.

Ronald
