A good suggestion ... but I was hoping to eliminate a step between the 
original and the ffmpeg MPEG2 encode. I'll test out the mjpeg tools for 
denoise, etc. on a sample and see how it looks.

Thanks for the suggestion. (but I'm still looking for 'ffmpeg' options)
