Yes, but we are writing here something larger, that will
be reformated and restructured quite a few times.

I'd say anything that comes with standard tex distros,
but i'm not opposed to any non-standard packages if
they make life easier. Using the packages mentioned
in The LaTeX Companion might be a good idea, as those
packages are commonly used.
