Sorry if you've spent much time on this - I've got a much newer and more
updated patch for this, which I haven't submitted yet since I've been
waiting for the nettle crypt patch to get merged first, which has taken
much much longer than I first thought.

In this, I've also fixed a number of details compared to the original
patches and some memory leaks (not sure if they're the same as your fixes
though).

Also, more importantly, it doesn't use gnutls-openssl (which is
GPL-licensed, compared to the rest of gnutls which is LGPL, which was a
blocker issue for this patchset initially), and has support for using
nettle as crypto backend (IIRC, that parts is still untested though, and I
don't currently have access to testing against akamai).

Thus, please base your work on this version instead.

Also, when continuing work on patches made by others, make sure to keep
the original git author name intact - the patch is originally written and
posted by a Sergiy in 2010, I've just made some improvments on it (your
patches had your own name as author name even in the first one).
