Well, I suggested it so rather obviously I'm OK with it... I just finished 
going over the spec line by line, I'm OK...

One cosmetic change I would like, I don't quite like the explanation of 
placement of index_ptr.. A few lines above it it is explictly said 
reserved_bytes must not be written...
