Hallo RC.

Mplayer options did not improove perfrormance. I checked 32 bit mode with hdparm as You suggested. It is off, and what is more I cannot turn it on on my system (hdparam -c {1,3} /dev/hdX does not work). On the other hand I read on the internet that it does not influence EIDE HD performance. I will try to rebuild mplayer to target 686 and tune HD performance with hdparam.
