4. If you can't find it go to www.rpm.org and download the appropriate 
RPM with rpmbuild and install it.

5. (MOST IMPORTANT) Learn how to compile from source... there's a 
certain satisfaction in it, and you can customize the program more and 
eventually maybe even contribute by making code improvement suggestions :)
