hi!

it's better with -nosound but not smooth.
mplayer needs more CPU-time with -nosound than with -ao mpegpes -
is that because the audio has to be muted?

if you look at the output (complete output above) - has this
something to do with that?
  The selected video_out device is incompatible with this codec.
  Try adding the scale filter, e.g. -vf spp,scale instead of -vf spp.
  VDecoder init failed :(
