Independant of who collects them, theres an easy saftey check which can be
done. Each developer who votes also provides a random string only he knows.
After voting all the votes together each with their random string are made
public. Also all names of who voted are published.
Like:
Roberto, Reimar, Michael, Ivan
blahlblah vote: B
foobar0991 vote: A
ghstfzfkfp vote: A
012333333 vote: C

that way people can check
1. That their own vote has been properly considered
2. Check that the number of votes considered matches the number of names
   participating
3. Check that their name is on the list if and only if they voted

Collectively people afterwards know if the vote was ok.
and if someone does complain that something doesnt match up (which i think is
unlikely) then that person can just vote in public to have his vote
counted correctly.
