with muxing in .mp4 over lavf? (and no i dont mean that mplayer can likely
play the resulting files but rather that picky hardware players can, i do
know it did work fine with x264/faac over lavc and lavf with mencoder ...)

also the xvid ratecontrol code will be lost for lavc encoding ...
