Don't you know how to use 'cvs log' ? :-) Or were you trying to spare
some feelings ? :-)

The committer is Michael, and the coder is me. The code mentions
assumptions about the input values (including 'width is a multiple of
16'), and it was committed in july of 2004... must have worked for some
people in the meantime, I hope :-)
