I'm still not a fan of this wording.  The behavior isn't weird, it's
quite consistent.  The volume will be reduced to the level specified,
upon first using the mixer.

Also, it seems like you could make this behavior less weird (and make
it a useful feature) by just calling setmixer after setting the value.
