It sounds like you are a Windows user. I am also willing to bet that you
don't currently have the necessary software to compile your own builds
of x264 and mplayer. If that's the case, the easiest thing for you to
do would be to go to the following URL:

http://celticdruid.no-ip.com/xvid/mplayer/

These require 7zip to open. The latest builds there have x264 enabled.
