Maybe playing with JACK's alsa driver options could give you better results. I
remember I've spend a few hours tweaking JACK options to get rid of audio
distortions, xruns etc.
For me A/V sync is ok but maybe I'm blind/deaf or contaminated by use of other 
so-high-latency sound daemons... ;)
