Thanks for the correction.  --nofs was just a typo in my message.  The 
mplayer.desktop in the mplayer-applink package has -nofs, which I just kept 
unchanged from an earlier build.  Nevertheless, the official mplayer.desktop 
in the etc directory of the source tree does not have as many translations of 
GenericName as many languages KDE supports.  That's why I am using a private 
version which I am planning to update with translations of Movie Player to 
replace translations of Video Player.
