Just my 0.02 on the subject.  If currently it is used in one place, shouldn't the same be used worldwide?  If it works for one, should the code be changed to match it, or conversely, should it be changed to match everything else?  What reason(s) would there be to change everything to match that ONE instance, or vice-versa?  Just MHO, but it should be one way or the other, not both.
