Hum, let us forget sync problem at the moment; about karaoke, I was
thinking of a text in a animated colored bitmap (with a nice font) where
only the 'inside' color of the font change during time, like a scroll.

I don't think mplayer/mencoder can use that sort of effect without bmovl :(
