It IS documented, that is IF they added my cygwin.txt file into DOCS/tech folder.  It shows EXACTLY how to get it working for you.  I have included it below just for you. :) (and anyone else that doesn't have it that wants it...)

PS. Myself, Sylvain Petroelle (spelling?), and Atmos are all working kind of parallel on making mplayer work in cygwin.  They are having better luck with getting patches applied, I guess.  Occassionally I send one, look through the archives, there are several from me that will get you going.
