[MPlayer-cygwin] Can not mencoder/mplayer 5+GB avi file

Hi!

I have a very annoying problem. I grabbed a film with VirtualDub 1.7.6. The
result is a 5+GB avi file (video: ffmjpeg, audio: PCM 48kHZ stereo). This film
can be played by MS Media Player w/o any problem. The mplayer plays only the
first two riff chunks (~2060 MB) and mencoder converts the same length.

I use:

MEncoder 1.0rc1-3.4.2 (C) 2000-2006 MPlayer Team
MPlayer 1.0rc1-3.4.2 (C) 2000-2006 MPlayer Team

CPU: AMD Athlon(TM) XP 2400+ (Family: 6, Model: 8, Stepping: 1)
CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 1 3DNow2: 1 SSE: 0 SSE2: 0

Could anyone help me how to mencode the whole file to mpeg4? I can do it if the
file is smaller than 2 GB.

I just got the idea to use

mencoder ... <file.avi

instead of

mencoder ... file.avi

I'll try it!

Thanks in advance!

TT
