[MPlayer-cygwin] avi file

Mplayer can not play an .avi file that plays with Realplayer and 
BSPlayer, although the video and audio are out of synch.  (BSPlayer also 
opens the subtitle file and Mplayer does not, but that's another 
matter.)  Mplayer says it's a badly interleaved file and uses -ni.  A 
window opens, but the movie never plays.  I'm using -directx:noaccel and 
-framedrop as parameters.  Is there anything else that I should try?
