yes, but they are closely related.
output pin is the object (driver) the codec sends its output data to.
in case of mplayer's directshow emu, output pin is the vf layer wrapper.
if the colorspace (selected by vf layer, to best fit next filter/vo)
is not acceptable for the codec, it cannot connect to that 'output pin'.

try to remove YV12 from the out list, and test again...

probably he copied the whole codec desc, and modified dll name only...
he tried, and it may be worked for him, if his vo used a colorspace
which is really supported by this codec...
