[Mplayer-advusers] subtitle sorting should be optional

Yes, indeed.
I've met quite many subtitles that after somebody's manual editing,
one of the numbers have one digit more or less - and the subtitle appears at
half of the movie.

Developers have CVS access.
The mortals send patches.

So you are free to send patches. I am sure
that somebody will apply it. If you frequently send patches you may get
CVS access back. I think that there won't be need to send letter to yourself
with username and password ;)
