[Mplayer-advusers] some suggestions etc. for mplayer

hi.

seeing arpi's mail about a release, i'd like to make a few suggestions etc.

- make pause a toggle, so you can actually do something else
- add an option to show the remaining time
- make some kind of fast forward where mplayer decodes faster than usual
  (and without sound, postprocessing etc.) like the fast forward on a vcr
  (esp. for file formats without seeking)
- what about cin-files (those quake movies xmms can play)? :)
- in the file gcc-2.96-3.0.html i'd exchange the last two paragraphs so it
  doesn't sound so hostile

and a few small bugs:
- the sdl audio driver together with the resample plugin (48000->44100)
  produced noise (after a really short time of correct sound)
- the oss audio driver blocks when the device is used. (adding '| O_NONBLOCK'
  to the flags of the open call in libao2/ao_oss.c (line 104) seemed to work)
feel free to ignore those if they were fixed in the last few days and ask if
some info is missing.
