i got those wrong; it works in 640x480 and 800x600, and is wrong in 1024x768
and 1152x864. haven't tried running x in 1024x768, yet.

as i said, it might occur in 1024x768, too. but if it doesn't: do you have
any idea where to look? not that i know much about this, but i might find
something.
