[MEncoder-users] Why this doesnt work? (adding subtitle to film)

What's wrong with this command line that the subtitle is not being written
to the final file?

mencoder -oac copy -ovc copy -sub Milk.2008.DivX.srt -subfont-text-scale 3
-subpos 95 -subfont-outline 1 -subcp cp1250 Milk.2008.DivX.avi -o
Milk.2008.DivX.LEG.avi

BTW, I need to use (in subtitle) latin caracters (like ç, ã, etc), is
correct to use that -subcp cp1250?
