It is acceptable most of the time, but sometimes the jerkiness is bothersome.

Yes, I normally use FMP4 for video and PCM for audio (then later I
compress the audio as vorbis and remux into Matroska). I used raw
audio / raw video in this example because I imagined it would show
this is not a codec problem.
