it's a known limitation of mpeg files (that lack informations like duration
and a seeking index), thus players have to invent a way to seek/scrub
to the desired temporal position within the stream.
BTW, 1 or 2 months ago I fixed a bug in muxer_mpeg that would cause
files generated with format=mpeg2 or format=mpeg1 to have an incorrect
initial SCR (breaking WMP more than it is by its own design)
