[MEncoder-users] how to get input file information by mencoder?

Hello list,
I need to know input file aspect before converting.
expl: 800X600 etc. 
is there any way to do that with mencoder?

and is it possible to take screen shots via mencoder(
extract certion frame as gif,png,jpeg )?
