Hi,

Thanks for your reply.  I tried all
combinations, and here are the results:

-noskip: mencoder exits at 27% with "Too many
audio packets in the buffer" message.

-mc 0: mencoder exits at 22% with "Too many
audio packets in the buffer" message.

both: same as with -mc 0

Any other ideas?  (Alternatively: is there
any other unix tool for converting mkv to avi?)
