[Libav-user] Installing libzvbi (preferably Windows)

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to use FFMPEG to decode and overlay teletext op47 subtitles from an SDI signal via a Blackmagic card and stream it as an MPEGTS stream. I've been able to read the SDI signal and successfully stream it using SRT - but now I'm trying to install the libzvbi library in order to decode and stream the subtitles with this.

I've been really struggling trying to get the libzvbi library to work with ffmpeg. On Windows I got as far as extracting the files and installing GNU Make. However, I'm stuck here trying to run the configure script. I've been following the INSTALL file in zvbi and this is as far as I've gotten:

"cd to the directory where you want the object files and executables to go and run the `configure' script. `configure' automatically checks for the source code in the directory that `configure' is in and in `..'."

  1. For FFMPEG, what would the directory be where I want the object files?
  2. How do I run the configure script in general? I understand a lot of UNIX systems use ./configure , but this has also failed for me on an msys2 environment.

Ideally I'd like to have this working on Windows as my Blackmagic card and workflow here in broadcast is already set up on Windows 10.

Any help here would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,
Conor
