I got this error when opening directories with "VIDEO_TS" contents, the 
libdvdnav DVDOpen() function is incorrect. I copied over DVDOpen from 
libdvdread-1.9.7 and it worked like a charm. You could try that 
yourself, or push for it to be done to the repository.
