Request to issue a Versioned Update to librtmp
Dear librtmp team, I am a neophyte with an appeal - can I please request that version 2.5 be issued for librtmp? There appears to be unofficial updates circulating but XBMC devs will not use them until an official update is provided. I am not joining the mailing list but if there is any commentary on why this can't be done, feel free to contact me directly. Thank you for any consideration on this request. Regards, Vijay Khurana

do you mean issue a new point release from rtmpdump git or do you mean apply the patches from stevens repo to rtmpdump git (and then make a release)? -compn
Thanks for responding and the ask on clarification. I am not 100% sure but I believe this is the most recent version that has been referenced by the XBMC team, so if this is Steven's repo, then it looks like yes to the second of the two options you presented. https://github.com/svnpenn/rtmpdump Is this doable? I have no issue with putting a new tag on my repo, but few thing need to be made clear. 1. My repo is not official. I had some things I wanted to change/improve that were rejected/ignored on the mailing list, that is the impetus behind svnpenn/rtmpdump 2. Howard Chu, which you could say is the principal developer of RtmpDump has even rejected some patches that are currently on my repo 3. A 2.5 release really isnt merited at this point If you and/or the XBMC team is ok with this then I can tag a "2.4.1" release or similar.
Just saw Steven's response on the thread archive (if I am not cc'd then I won't see the response). I think a 2.4.1 tag would be sufficient for the XBMC team, I have emailed a developer to confirm. I'll let you know what I hear back on this. Thanks for your continued support on this. Vijay On Sat, Oct 27, 2012 at 11:35 AM, Vijay Khurana <vijay.khurana@gmail.com>wrote:

I just received an update from a member of the XBMC team: " ... now do a pull from their official git to make our own tarball. See https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blob/master/tools/darwin/depends/librtmp/Makefi... Darwin platform has been migrated to this, the others will follow." So this is no longer an issue. Sorry for the bother and thank you for looking into this. Vijay On Sun, Oct 28, 2012 at 1:04 PM, Vijay Khurana <vijay.khurana@gmail.com> wrote:
