Can't get rtmpdump to work with CSPAN

I am having trouble downloading CSPAN video using rtmpdump (version 2.3) on kubuntu 11.4. For example, the url: http://www.c-spanvideo.org/program/MobileTechn When I try to use the parameters: rtmpdump -r rtmp://video.c-spanarchives.org:1935/fastplay/../ -y mp4:full/2011/05/19/20110519200000002_hd.mp4 -A 84 -B 3602 -W http://www.c- spanarchives.org/flash/cspanPlayer.swf -o MobileTechn_0.mp4 The dump begins correctly at 2.3%. It proceeds for a while, then drops back and redownloads a portion of the earlier stream. It will do this repeatedly as the dump proceeds so that the final file will contain many repeated segments. I used rtmpsrv to get (hopefully) better parameters. Rtmpsrv gave me the following command line: rtmpdump -r "rtmp://video.c-spanarchives.org:1935/fastplay" -a "fastplay" -f "LNX 10,3,181,14" -W "http://www.c- spanvideo.org/videoLibrary/assets/swf/CSPANPlayer.swf?rand=1249707438" -p "http://www.c-spanvideo.org/program/MobileTechn" -y "mp4:full/2011/05/19/20110519200000002_hd.mp4" -o 20110519200000002_hd.flv This gave me the same behavior. Trying to dump an rtmp stream

Hi all; I am trying to dump rtmpstream from http://www.yildiz.tv/?act=dvr&chan=show, to my defense I am not doing it to prevent ads or anything (I can't see any due to adblock anyway) but to be able to watch the TV without Flash which doesn't "work" on 64bit Linux systems. on the rtmpdump page http://rtmpdump.mplayerhq.hu recently it has been changed from svn co svn://svn.mplayerhq.hu/rtmpdump/trunk rtmpdump to git clone git://git.ffmpeg.org/rtmpdump for downloading the source 1. is svn not being used anymore for rtmpdump? 2. if so, why is svn still showing for older releases? 3. if git is the new way of things, how do you get a specific older release with git, for example r562

Feature request - Ability to specify a custom Referer header for use with the SWF file

Hello. More and more sites nowadays forbid access to direct requests to the SWF file (HTTP error 403 forbidden) by checking the Referer header. Currently, rtmpdump lacks a way to circumvent this restriction, so in order to get the stream we have to use the old way of computing manualy the hash of the SWF file and pass it to the program. Is anyone interested in adding a "send custom header(s)" functionality to rtmpdump? Note to any aspiring developer: In order to make sure that the SWF file can be accessed in all possible cases, the option (let's say "-H") should be able to be specified more than once in the command line. i.e. rtmpdump -r someserver -W http://location/file.swf -H "Referer: http://www.blah.com/" -H "User Agent: Mozilla 5/0" ..... RE: David Woodhouse's objections to swfVfy requiring an argument It seems to me that --swfVfy as an inline instruction is essential to the way get_iplayer works. RTMPDump depends on the user (or a helper application) to provide it with the URL of the compressed swf player file. The URL that get_iplayer provides to RTMPDump is hard-coded--it is statically defined in the perl script *get_iplayer.pl*. When the BBC updates the location of the player file, a* web browser *can respond to the 301 Error and find the embedded player at its new URL--the web page does not need its HTML source recoded. However, RTMPDump and get_iplayer don't respond to 301 in the same way--to avoid manually updating .swfinfo and hand-recoding get_iplayer.pl, an opportunity must exist for get_iplayer to provide RTMPDump with a revised-URL instruction that overrides the deprecated swf player URL provided upstream. Once parsed, the best way I have found to introduce a new swf player URL into the RTMPDump/get_iplayer process is: get_iplayer --prefs-add --rtmp-tv-opts="--swfAge=0 --swfVfy= http://www.bbc.co.uk/emp/revisions/18269_21576_10player.swf" In the absence of --swfVfy, the only end-user instructions available to redirect flvstreamer and update .swfinfo seems to be: get_iplayer --prefs-add --rtmp-tv-opts="swfAge=0 --swfUrl= http://www.bbc.co.uk/emp/revisions/18269_21576_10player.swf --swfhash=756ef5b1b33f59e88680ba06bcbc967e34468c82119df9e3789965513e7e57f5 --swfsize=000f9c9b" Is the way --swfVfy is implemented in danger of being changed? Circumvention issues aside, --swfVfy provides a very useful downstream opportunity to introduce an entirely new swf player URL conflict-free. I don't doubt that I'm missing something, but unless the end-user is expected to hand-recode strawberry perl, what other options exist when a relocated swf player breaks get_iplayer function?
