Hi Using Ubuntu Linux I tried to download a video with this command:- rtmpdump -r "rtmpe://cp3547.edgefcs.net:1935/ondemand?ovpfv=2.1.4" -a "ondemand?ovpfv=2.1.4" -f "LNX 10,1,102,64" -W "http://media.mtvnservices.com/player/release/?v=4.13.0" -p "http://www.cmt.com/videos/aaron-lewis/643964/country-boy-live-from-nashvill…" -C Z: -y "mp4:mtvnshrdstor/_!/mtvi/bands/l/lewis_aaron/cm_country_boy_live_full_512x288_750_m30.mp4" -o cm_country_boy_live_full_512x288_750_m30.flv But I got an error message:- bash: !/mtvi/bands/l/lewis_aaron/cm_country_boy_live_full_512x288_750_m30.mp4": event not found Then I tried again on a Windows machine and it downloaded OK. It's because ! is a special character in bash. So I had to put the -y name in 'single quotes' instead of "double quotes". Then it downloaded OK in Linux. I won't fall for that again, lol. But could the rtmpsrv program be modified so that it always used single quotes in playpath names? Or would it cause other complications?

rtmpdump doesn't handle extra extended timestamp in header

Hello When rtmpdump download h.263 live stream over 16777sec,it always stop download. Is there a workaround? Server move, possible outages

Hello everyone, (sorry for this massive SPAM) mplayerhq is moving to a different server and this mailing list is affected. This will happen on monday, in parts possibly earlier. We intend of course to make this move completely seamless but it'll probably a bit more messy than that. Therefore we wanted to tell you about it, what the current status is, what might go wrong and you can do if this is an issue for you. The rest is a bit technical, if you do not understand anything just ignore it :-). If there's some service you depend on that is not mentioned consider asking us. 1) DNS: we switched to DNS on the new server, but the change hasn't propagated yet. The server will be the same as the ffmpeg.org one, so if necessary you can e.g. manually add a line like 192.190.173.45 www1.mplayerhq.hu www.mplayerhq.hu mplayerhq.hu svn.mplayerhq.hu mplayerhq.eu to /etc/hosts. IRC on freenode.net, #mplayer should work as emergency communication channel. 2) Homepage: The mplayerhq.hu homepage is already up and running on the server, some download links are not working currently though 3) Mailing lists: basic setup done, data like archives and subscriber list still missing. In the worst case you would have to subscribe again - we do _not_ expect that to happen. 4) Repositories: We have full backups of the repositories up and running (minus latest commits) but some details like who has write access and commit hooks are missing. It might be better not to use them for a few days. 5) FTP: All data is backed-up (in several places) but not all will be available from the start. In particular upload/incoming and samples will be missing for some time due to high disk-space requirements of these. Kind regards, Reimar Döffinger

Playback problem after recording live stream by RTMPDump

After recoding a rtmp streaming into flv file, there are some playback problems. The timestamp didn't work well, it may go from 1:54 to 3:25, or sometimes faster and sometimes slower. It it some freeware like moyea flv player that I used. I tried some metadata fixing software like yamdi, it worked partially, that some of the missing frames showed up. However, the playback speed still remains a problem. It still speed up sometime during the process. On the other hand, VLC player works just fine. So I'm curious is it just the flv player problem or there is something to do with rtmpdump. Anyone has any thought on this issue? Thanks Thanks!

Due to changes in the organizations at the mplayer and ffmpeg projects, hosting for rtmpdump is going to move in the next couple days. As yet I don't know where the web site and mailing list will land. Probably best to keep tabs on the ffmpeg.org web site for further updates.

ciao, I encode from a pc with Adobe Media Encoder to a server with Adobe Media Server. And this configuration works well. The actual configuration is: 1) computer A (es: 192.168.1.5 - gw 192.168.1.254) point to computer B with FMS url: rtmp://COMPUTER_B_WAN_IP/live and StreamName test?user=useruser&password=userpassword 2) computer B (es: 210.22.11.134) with Adobe Media Server But now I need to encode from Adobe Media Encoder (computer A) to a pc (computer P) and then redirect the rtmp flow to the Adobe Media Server (computer B). Those 3 computers have different lan configurations. If I use rtmpsuck on computer P, can I use it like proxy to redirect the computer A rtmp flow to computer B? I suppose: 1) computer A (es: 192.168.1.5 - gw 192.168.1.254) point to computer P with FMS url: rtmp://COMPUTER_P_WAN_IP/live and StreamName test?user=useruser&password=userpassword 2) on computer P (es: 10.10.10.8 - gw 10.10.10.254) I install rtmpsuck, I open port 1935 on his firewall and I configure iptables like: iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp --dport 1935 -j DNAT --to-destination COMPUTER_B_WAN_IP:1935 3) on computer B I do nothing. Now I have 2 questions: 1- Can it works? 2- On computer P (the proxy) I must install rtmpsuck and rtmpsrv or I can install only rtmpsuck? Hello, after examining the rtmpdump source i'm now at the point where i can write the streams to the disc, but when I play them back I get only audio. Is there a special flag to set to get also the video running video, when I look at the filesize its to big to be only audio? Georg
