Hi! I compiled rtmpdump on my OS X 10.5.8. First I compiled and installed openssl 1.0 into /usr/local. Compiling rtmpdump worked without errors (just warnings). Thank you kindly, sir! That does indeed prevent the crash/high CPU utilization. However, I can't seem to figure why it dies in the first place. Very odd. Like, Adobe's doing something different. No luck with livestream's live feeds

rtmpdump broken for Iplayer HD feeds

I am getting 'ERROR: RTMP_ReadPacket, failed to read RTMP packet header' when using rtmpdump with get_iplayer for HD feeds. I have tried multiple shows and it doesn't work for any. Flvstreamer works for the same HD feeds. I have tried rtmpdump for lower quality versions of the same shows and it works so it seems to be a problem restricted to HD versions.

Hello World! I am new on this list & ready to learn more about using rtmpdump on live feeds. I am an online media links gatherer from my country & want to have fast & independent access to them. Only because & thanks to a compatriot who posted how to connect through this rtmp protocol, I would have never known about this wonderful -AND OPEN- application. But even after reading the man page, I have been unable to find the right parameter settings for some of my country's short list of rtmp live feeds. In particular, this regional http://www.canalregional.cl network is one of them, please help me access it through rtmpdump, OR identify the matching parameters inside the embedded code in order to apply the method on any new feeds. Snow Leopard "unknown option: -soname"

Hi! I get a compilation error for rtmpdump on Snow Leopard with macports: ld: unknown option: -soname I tried bisecting and found out that this error occurs in revisions 512 to current (551). Revision 511 compiles. And it works to take the Makefiles from revision 511 and all other files from head on trunk. I attached the diffs in the two Makefiles that seem to cause the error. I hope someone with mad Makefile skillz can find out what the problem is :) Best regards, Albert

rtmpdump and data loss

This is a followup question: I have looked in the support docs at Adobe for the server and in the forums. Seems as there is no way from the client end to specify parameters that control how the server drops frames when the server output overflows the network connection. However there is a property called NetStreamInfo.droppedFrames available to the player that allows the number of dropped frames to be accessed. Is it possible for the rtmpdump code to easily get at this value? I ask because the method I am using now to download is during very early morning hours of little net activity I download the stream several times, check file sizes and if equal then md5sum the files. If I could get rtmpdump to check periodically for dropped frames, I could then abort as soon as there are dropped frames not wasting any more time on that session. Starting Live Stream For duration: 60.000 sec INFO: Metadata: INFO: width 360.00 INFO: height 288.00 INFO: framerate 25.00 INFO: videocodecid 7.00 INFO: videodatarate 128.00 INFO: audiodatarate 96.00 1759.932 kB / 58.99 sec Download complete The file get created but I can not open, transcode or edit it using various tools: flvtool2, SUPER(which use FFMPEG), classic windows media player ... etc, just VLC could open it. no difference when I save the file as '.flv'. Any idea what is the problem? Thanks
