spec: please rename DTS to what it actually is: DSN
Hi folks, back in May 2004 Rich already found that DTS is a misnomer because it's no time stamp at all. So please call it what it is, nothing else but a decode sequence number. You probably want that people reading your spec do understand as much as possible ... Cheers, J.

This contradicts later developments on the interpretation of DTS, particularly the fact that DTS must match the codec's definition of DTS. For codecs that need a concept of DTS but don't define one, a supplemental spec must be made. Supplemental specs are already needed for certain broken codecs, like the Xiph family of codecs, which do not conform to any sane sense of global headers. Rich
